Position Summary
The Café Supervisor/Manager at Ultiqa Freshwater Point Resort plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation, commercial success, and outstanding guest experiences within our café. This position demands a dynamic leader with a strong background in hospitality management, a keen business acumen, and a passion for delivering excellence.
Main Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
• Contribute to a culture that values equality, fairness, and transparency, and zero tolerance for bullying, discrimination, and harassment.
• Contribute to a positive safety culture ensuring identification of any risks immediately.
• Comply with company / client procedures and regulations including OH&S Act, Work cover legislation, Corporate and Departmental policies.
• Assist management to carry out investigations where required.
• Lead, motivate, and supervise café staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Conduct regular team meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
Operational Excellence:
• Oversee day-to-day café operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure adherence to high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service efficiency.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to optimize workflow and ensure timely food and beverage service.
• Ordering of stock, minimising waste at all times
Commercial and Financial Management:
• Daily rostering of staff 2 weeks in advance
• Daily management of Point of Sale System
• Daily banking of funds
Develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive sales growth.
• Manage cost controls, including inventory management, to ensure profitability.
• Analyse financial reports and implement measures to achieve financial KPIs.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Monitor and achieve revenue targets, implementing strategies for upselling and promotions.
• Control operational costs, including food and labour costs, to meet financial goals.
• Track guest satisfaction scores and implement improvements based on feedback.
• Menu Development and Quality Control:
• Collaborate with management and staff to develop and update the café menu.
• Ensure consistency in the quality and presentation of food and beverages.
• Introduce promotions and offerings to boost commercial performance.
Qualifications and Competencies:
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a café
• Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA)
• Education: Relevant education in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
• Financial Acumen: Proven ability to manage budgets, analyse financial reports, and implement cost-effective measures.
• Customer Focus: A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, customers, and resort management.
• Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
